The WPT makes two stops in October. The first is the WPT Spanish Poker Championship at the Casino Barcelona starting on the 11th. The final table is scheduled for the 16th with a buy-in of EUR 7500, and there’s a limit of 400 players.
The next stop is the North American Poker Championships on the 26th at the Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort. The buy-in is $10,000 Canadian, and regulations allow 19-year-old players.
November has only one stop at the Foxwoods World Poker Finals. It will run from Nov 7-13 at the beautiful Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Connecticut. The year’s events wrap up at the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic from Dec 13-18.
Most have satellites available online if you want to win your way into one of these premier events. Many players got their start on the WPT and the league continues to bring out the best in the world.
One of the world’s top professional tournament players and self-help gurus, Charlie Shoten, has started to run his own poker workshops. Classes will start in just under three weeks. Charlie is a leader in poker-related positive thinking, and teaches players to deal with the emotional aspects to the game of poker. His award-nominated book, “No Limit Life”, teaches that patience and understanding can make you a winner both at and away from the poker table.
You can attend one of Shoten’s workshops in Orlando at the DeepStacks poker school Oct. 13-14, or in Los Angeles at the California Poker Players Conference Hollywood Park Casino Oct. 20-21. Charlie is “poker meets the Secret” in his philosophy, and teaches people to plan out the future of their lives through pure positive thought by plugging the leaks in our game and our personalities that we’ve all collected over the years in our lives.
There’s no disputing that online Togel poker can be addictive. I’ve played poker for many years and I’ve never put any part of my life in jeopardy because of the game. If you get addicted to the game you had better have enough sense to lean how to maximize your edges so you’re not always broke. But if the game is controlling your decision-making processes, you need to step away.
If you love to play poker then learn to play to your bankroll and work at becoming a winning player. If you just play without working on your game you will go broke again and again, riding on nothing but the luck of the draw. Gambling is something you do with extra money to enjoy yourself. It’s not a foolproof method to pay your bills or earn a fortune. Pay your bills first, then play poker.
In my opinion there are three names that should be considered as the greatest poker players of all time. Those names are Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan and Stu Unger.
Brunson has been around the longest and has 10 WSOP bracelets under his belt. He is poker’s greatest ambassador, and still competes at the highest levels while in his seventies.
Chan also has 10 WSOP bracelets and continues to be dominant at just about any table he joins. He won the WSOP main event back to back (as did Doyle), and his bracelets were won in numerous variations of the game.
The greatest, however, in my opinion was the late Stu Unger. He was a three-time winner of the WSOP main event and the purest card player ever to live. Unfortunately he was unable to control his addiction to drugs and his career was cut short in his forties when he overdosed in a Vegas hotel.
